19. In this last year, I have moved 644.6 miles away from home. From everything I’d ever known to San Diego. I have grown so much in this past year, I learned what it really feels like to be independent and become an adult. I am starting to figure who I am, and what I want out of life. I finally learned that life isn’t all about the plan, life is about living by every moment because it’s too short to take it for granted. I am learning to let myself live, to accept the fact that I am not like everyone else and my journey does not have to reflect my peers around me. I know one day I will accomplish my goal at becoming a nurse but it doesn’t mean I am a failure if it’s not completed according to society’s plan. This year, I lost my best friend. The person who I thought would never not be my side, I honestly thought that we would be friends for the rest of our lives and that no matter what she would be there. I learned that my mother is always right, ” friends come and go but family will always be there”. She taught me that it was okay to see a friendship fail because you can gain a new perspective from it, one you may have never saw, and I did. I am finally letting go Marie, thank you for being such a rock in my life for all those years, and I will always appreciate the memories we have shared, I hope one day you can look back and appreciate me too. One thing I am so thankful for is Taz, Bri And Tenntson for always being by me no matter the distance, true friends are hard to come by and I am so thankful I have them. So many things have made 19 such a life changing year. I have made some of the best friends here in San Diego and have gained a sister and family who I am and always will be grateful for. I love the Smiths so much and am so grateful that they let me into their home with open arms. I am so blessed. As this year comes to a close and 20 looms near, I cannot begin to fathom how truly blessed I am, I have a great family, amazing friends and a beautiful place I call home. The only thing I can wish for in this coming year is more happiness, new friendships and new adventures! So long 19! Thanks for the memories.
